I lived my life in a cold, dark, cave,
Never content and always alone.
Without eyes, I could not sense the sun.
Darkness was life and damp was my soul.

Without ears I could not hear the call
To come into the outside world.
The stillness would have driven me mad
And emptiness was stealing my mind.

Then you touched my heart and I could see.
You took my hand and guided me
Into a place where lovers stroll
In sunshine and warmth and happiness.

You are my life, my very reason for living.
Lifting my soul from a pit of dispair,
You have given me light and warmth,
Love and devotion, nourishment and hope.

Eternal forces brought you to me
And will keep me within your grasp
For as long as the sun shines through your eyes
And the glow of the stars lives in your heart.
